The song that I have chosen is “Sherry”, sung by Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. This song was considered Frankie Valli’s first big hit. When Frankie Valli started out, he was just a kid from the streets of New Jersey trying to make it big. The genre of this song is a combination of both Pop and Rock. I chose this song because since I was young, Valli has been one of my dad’s favorite singers. Naturally he would play his music very often, so I would hear it all the time. As time went on, he became my favorite singer. The song has a smooth, easy to follow rhythm. The beats are almost exactly a second apart from each other. Based on this tempo, it had approximately 60 beats per minute. The texture of this song is polyphony. It couldn’t be monophony because at not one point in the song is there a single musical line without anything joining it.

  1. In stead of making instruments to perform the high pitch and low pitch; this song use only men’s vocal to show us the power of vocal; the music is not very standout. The vocal perform both high and low pitch to expresses many kinds of emotion, this is very impressive. I am also enjoy the clapping in this song; it is coordinate with drum so well.
