A particular musical technology I chose to emphasize on is the guitar. When you think about Guitar, personally what comes to my mind is jazz, rock, metal, etc. But rarely do I happen to hear music hip hop music with guitar playing in the background, but it’s becoming a bit more common amongst many different genres of music. The guitar is apart of the string family of instruments, which the guitar is often found to have 6 strings. But it could vary from 4-12 strings, but the most common guitars have 6. A guitar typically produces sounds by the use of the vibrations of the strings when strung, which produce different kinds of frequencies of sound depending on the tension of the strings, which then the sound box (the hole within the guitar body) amplifies it to produce the sound which is the result of it all . Personally I have no prior experience with the guitar, but It is an instrument I am intrigued in.

A particular song that I used that used the guitar as an aspect of the song is, “Go Loko” by YG ft. Tyga, Jon Z. At the beginning of the song the guitar is slowly strung to emphasize on the start of the song and then strung at a steady pace in order to give the song a relaxed vibe to it, but an upbeat one at the same time. The guitar really helped connect the song to a much emphasized Latino vibe which was one of the many goals of the song as it did include Spanish lyrics and the music video helped emphasize on that as well.
