Both my parents originated from Mexico, having me to have grown up within a heavily influenced traditional Mexican household. Within Mexican culture, music is a huge part of its culture, as goes for many. Such music revolving around genres such as mariachi, norteño, corridos, etc. But all are as equally important within Mexican culture, sometimes resulting in a combination of two genres. But specifically norteños are heavily played within Mexican parties, or events such as weddings, quinceaneras, birthdays, etc. Esentailly norteños were brought into the late 1900’s, and are revolved around a waltz or polka form of tempo which is evident in many norteño songs.

Today there are several norteño artist, that are all involved with norteño groups, who still preform these genre of music. Norteños is a genre revolved around the use of mainly accordions, saxophones, drums, etc. Such norteños is also played by mariachis, it is still tied to my ethnicity. One example of norteño music is a piece by Los Tigres Del Norte, “La Puerta Negra”. Which is still preformed today often enough considering it being a classic norteño dating all the way back to 1986. This song alone is consisted of a saxophone, accordion, electric guitar, and drums.

I like the video you provided because it clearly shows the different instruments, and their unique sound that when combined creates this wonderful music, that continues to gain popularity today.
