Rolling in the deep by Adele is the song that I choose for this blog. This song was released in 2011 and was the top song of the year and it spent seven weeks in the top charts. It’s a pop genre. Adele wrote this piece of music because she was inspired after her breakup. When I was in middle school, I joined the school band and played the trumpet. Rolling in the deep was the first song that I learned to play and we also performed in the school concert. There is a melody in the music, It sounds more like a jazz sound. The range of the melody also exists. There is a distance between the highest and lowest pitches. Along with the amazing lyrics, there is definitely timbre in the background. When the song starts, there is guitar line sound which is part of the instruments, the strings. After that, Adele sings some lyrics and there is percussion (DRUMS). Also, there are minor chord, even though the music is upbeat. These sound of these chords are sad even though the sound of the music sound very loud.

I think this was a great piece to “dissect” so to speak. “Rolling in the Deep” is a song where there is a lot going on especially when it comes to the different approach the artist took when it comes to pitch. Additionally, this song has a musical depth where the minor chord really brings the piece together. (The gaps between the pitches, intensifies the song greatly.)
Hi Hardip, I think your analysis is definitely spot on, especially with the high and low pitches, I think that Adele is definitely known for that. In this song I think that the crescendos in this song is what speaks to me the most out of all the things you mentioned. Great song!
